Making Soup With a Blender Mixer

A hearty bowl of soup can be enjoyed anytime, and making home-made soup is easier than one may think. For a healthy meal making soup with a blender mixer is convenient. Although there are a lot of styles of mixers and blenders, it’s best to use an automatic blender mixer rather than a hand blender mixer.

You can use fresh ingredients, frozen, or canned. When fresh vegetables or tomatoes (a fruit) are used make sure to wash, peel (if needed) and cube them.

Ingredients you need:

2 tablespoons olive oil
3-4 minced garlic cloves
¼ cup finely diced onion
8 oz. light cream
¼ cup milk
Salt and Pepper
Fresh parsley finely chopped
¼ tsp. Brown sugar

In a large sauce pan heat the olive oil, add the garlic and onions and cook over low heat until soft.

Meanwhile, prepare the main ingredient of your choice.

For fresh vegetables: (sweet-potatoes, squash, broccoli, carrots, or potatoes)

Boil or steam the vegetables until fork tender. Next, add to the onions and garlic and let simmer over medium heat for about 15 minutes.

For Tomatoes or Mushrooms:

For tomato soup, skin and dice then add to the garlic and onions.
Mushrooms can also be cooked with the onions and garlic until tender.

Simmer over medium heat for about 15 minutes.

For canned or (thawed) frozen ingredients:

Add to sauteed garlic and onions, simmer over medium heat about 15 minutes.

Blending and Mixing your Soup:

After the ingredients have simmered and the flavors are combined well you are ready to cream the soup.

Carefully add the contents to your blender, place the top on, use a pot holder to hold the top, and blend for about 2-3 minutes. Open the cap on the top, and add the light cream, then mix for another 2 minutes.

Add a little of the milk to get the consistency you desire. Add the brown sugar. Season with salt and pepper, mix for 1 minute.

Serving Suggestions:

To serve right away just pour into soup bowls, garnish with the fresh parsley and enjoy.
To serve later, pour the soup into a pot, cover, and reheat when you are ready to eat.

Making soup with a blender mixer is easy, and a great way to enjoy home-made soups.
